About

The Ruangmei (often known as Rongmei) people are closely related to the Zeme, Liangmai, and Inpui communities, together referred to as Zeliangrong. The Ruangmei language belongs to the Tibeto–Burman family. Community life, oral traditions, and seasonal festivals are central to cultural identity.

Ruangmei is used in daily life, ceremonies, and songs. Documentation and teaching materials are growing through community efforts.

Festivals

Gaan-Ngai is a major post-harvest festival featuring dance, music, and communal feasts, strengthening social bonds and cultural memory.
